Chandan specializes in patents, designs, protection of technical industrial information, copyright law and Geographical Indications. He is a registered patent agent. He drafts, files and prosecutes patent specifications in India and in other jurisdictions namely under the PCT, Paris Convention, USA, Europe, Canada, South Africa, Argentina, Australia etc. Chandan has successfully opposed and defended numerous pre and post grant oppositions of Patents. He has worked with a diverse range of IP subjects including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, bio-chemicals, biotechnology & genetic engineering, Paints and material science, food processing technology, green energy related technologies, metallurgy and forging technology.

Apart from preparing responses to office actions and regularly appearing before the Indian Patent Office and Intellectual Property Appellate Board in connection with patent applications and oppositions, Chandan also supervises the overall working of our Patent department, including data management, patent renewals, responses/communications to Patent Office and to the clients.

Chandan also works as team member for drafting specifications of Indian Geographical Indications. He assists clients in patent searches; provides opinions on the validity and enforcement of patents; conducts patentability and infringement analysis, freedom to operate analysis, infringement analysis; handles recordial of rights/interest in the granted/pending patents, management of patent portfolios and patent annuities; and conducts Patent audits for clients.
